Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together. After a stressful event, the human body would try to regain homeostasis. Which action of the body is correct for it to achieve homeostasis. Is it answer choice? A dilation of the Bronchus. Answer choice B, elevation of the heart rate, answer choice C stimulation of the digestive system or answer choice. D dilation of the pupils. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following answer choices is the correct action of the body in order to regain homeostasis. So, in order to solve this question, we have to recall what we have learned about what occurs in the body following a stressful event in order to try to regain homeostasis. And we can recall that the parasympathetic nervous system is responsible for returning the body to homeostasis. And we can also recall that a chief response of the parasympathetic nervous system in relation to trying to regain homeostasis is the stimulation or the start of digestion or hunger. Therefore, after a stressful event, in order for the body to regain homeostasis, the parasympathetic nervous system activates its response of stimulation of digestion or hunger. So answer choice, C stimulation of the digestive system is the correct answer. And all other answer choices are incorrect as they would not result in the body regaining homeostasis. So answer choice C is the only correct answer choice. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
