Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question. Together, the speed of a reaction rate can be altered by adding, what is it? Answer choice, A, a catalyst. Answer choice B an inhibitor. Answer choice C heat or answer choice D. All of the above. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following answer choices when added to a chemical reaction results in a change of the speed of the reaction rate. So in order to solve this question, we have to recall what each the following answer choices are. And if they are added to that chemical reaction, what effect do they have on the speed of a reaction rate? And starting off with answer choice A, we have a catalyst which we can recall that a catalyst can work to reduce the activation energy or alter how the reaction mechanism works in order to speed up the reaction rate. Therefore, a catalyst can alter the speed of a reaction rate. However, let's double check with our other remaining answer choices before making our selection. Next, we have answer choice B inhibitor, which we know that inhibitors work to block the catalysts from binding to the substrate which prevents the catalyst from working properly. Therefore, inhibitors lower the reaction rate, which means that inhibitors also alter the speed of a reaction. So answer choice B is also a possible answer choice. And lastly, we have answer choice C which says heat and we know that adding temperature to a reaction would speed up the particles so that the reaction would react faster. Therefore, the of heat to a chemical reaction would also alter the speed of a reaction rate. So answer choice D all of the above is the correct answer. Since a catalyst inhibitor and heat, when added to a chemical reaction will alter the speed of the reaction rate. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
