Hi, everyone. Let's look at our next question. It says which of the following? Synovial joints has a fibrocartilage, a ball and socket joint. B hinge joint, C pivot joint or D acromioclavicular joint. Well, let's recall that synovial joints are joints that uh in between them, in between the two bones have a capsule, a fibrous capsule that's filled with synovial fluid, which is where they get their name. And our question is asking us which of the different types of synovial joints has a fibrocartilage, a mixture of fibrous and cartilaginous tissue that you have this disk of this material between the articulatory surfaces of the bones separating the synovial capsules. And it has two purposes in this case, um acts as a cushion, helping to distribute or redistribute the forces during movement and it also provides stability to the joint. So when we're looking at our types of synovial joints, the type that has a fibrocartilage is choice C A pivot joint. And this would be a joint where you have the two bones coming together, you have a central cylindrical shaped bone surrounded by a sort of c shaped ring of bone. And the fibrocartilage is in between where the two bones are moving past each other. Uh Some examples of these include um the radio ulnar joint in the arm and the joints up at the top of the spine. Those first vertebrae allowing the head to turn back and forth. So that's our joint with the fibrocartilage, uh choice a ball and socket joint. Uh And hi B hinge joint don't have fibrocartilage as part of their structure. The acromioclavicular joint in choice D is a very specific joint and it's between the clavicle and the scapula and it's a gliding joint in that place. So it doesn't have a fibrocartilage either. So not our correct answer. And again, our synovial joint with a fibrocartilage is choice C A pivot joint. See you in the next video.
