What is the importance of the perirenal fat capsule that surrounds the kidney?

Welcome back everyone. Our next question says, what is the name of the fatty mass that surrounds the kidney and protects it from blows a renal facia B per renal fat capsule, C fibrous capsule or D perineum. Well, we kind of have a clue given to us in the name, it's a fatty mass surrounding the kidney. And that is choice B the peri renal fat capsule and that does surround and protect the kidney. So let's just look quickly at our other answers. Do you understand why they are not correct? The renal facia is an outer layer but it's not a fatty layer. It's an outer layer of dense fibrous tissue. And its purpose is to anchor the kidney and the adrenal glands to the surrounding structures. So it surrounds the kidney but is not a fatty layer. So that's not our correct answer. And then should I see the fibrous capsule? Uh again surrounds the kidney, but obviously, as his name tells us, it's a fibrous capsule. It's a transparent capsule that surrounds the kidney and its purpose is to prevent infections, spreading from neighboring tissues. So, again, choice c not our correct answer. And perhaps we're getting a feeling from these choices of just how protected the kidney is. The kidney is really important and crucial. And so our body finds lots of ways to protect it from damage. Choice. D is the perineum probably know that this is that serious membrane that lines the parental cavity. And we may kind of think of the kidneys as being in there, but the kidneys are outside of the perennial cavity. So that perit covers the ventral side of the kidneys since they are behind the perennial cavity. So choice d not our correct answer.
