Welcome back everyone. Our next question says which of the following statements best describes the primary function of organ systems in multicellular organisms. A conservation of heat, B building and repairing tissues, C storage of energy or D work in coordination and maintain homeostasis. Well, we're looking for a very general answer here because we're talking about the primary function of organ systems. So of course, you've got lots of different organ systems that do lots of different things in the body. So when we look at our answer choices, A B and C are really too specific, if we want to talk about all the organ systems in an organism, conservation of heat would involve, you know, different systems, the skin fat, uh muscle system in terms of shivering, things like that. But your liver, for instance, or your kidney wouldn't be involved in conservation of heat and those are part of organ systems. So A B and C are too specific. There are organ systems involved in all of these processes, but it doesn't describe the primary function of all the organ systems. So for that, we'll be looking at choice D work and coordination and maintain homeostasis because maintaining homeostasis is the best general description of what all the different organs with their different functions do. So, you know the lungs respiration, maintaining a constant level of oxygen and carbon dioxide or the kidney filtering out toxins and maintaining, helping to maintain constant say salinity or concentrations of given things in the blood.
