Video transcript

Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together as the enteric nervous system comprises a complex network of neurons and neurotransmitters that may operate independently from the central nervous system. It is commonly referred to as what is it? Answer choice. A the little brain answer choice B the second brain, answer choice C, the simple brain or answer choice D the largest brain. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following answer choices is the correct answer. So looking at our answer choices, we are able to identify that some of the answer choices contain terms that are familiar to us such as answer choice C to simple brain, which we note that simple brain refers to the brain that is found in those simple organisms such as invertebrates that have a relatively small and simple nervous system. And we know that answer choice. D the largest brain refers to the most complex brain among all mammals, which describes the brain of humans. And since answer choice, C and D refer to the brain that is found in two different types of organisms and not that complex network, we can eliminate answer choice C and D. Since they are incorrect and looking at answer choice A, we see little brain, which we know is another term to describe the cerebellum. And since the cerebellum is not the complex network of neurons and neurotransmitters, we can also eliminate answer choice. A which leaves us with the only remaining answer, choice, answer choice B second brain, which is the correct answer. Since the second brain to the enteric nervous system, which is comprised of a complex network of neurons and neurotransmitters that may operate independently from the central nervous system. And it gets the name second brain because of its ability to control many digestive processes. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
