Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together, determine which of the following answer choices is a solution. Is it answer choice? A water, answer choice, B, orange juice, answer choice C cough syrup or answer choice D, all of the above. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following answer choices is a solution. So in, in order to solve this question, we have to recall what the term solution refers to and the type of mixtures that each of the following answer choices are. And since we are looking for a solution, we know that answer choice. A water is incorrect since water is a solvent also known as the universal solvent. So it is not a solution. And since one answer choice is incorrect, answer choice D is also incorrect and looking at the remaining answer choices, we see answer choice C which says cough syrup in which cough syrups are suspensions. Since the drugs are not fully design in the solvent and those solute particles found in the cough syrup can't settle down when the cough syrup is kept undisturbed, which explains why we shake the bottle of cough syrup before using it to ensure that we get those active ingredients. So answer choice C cough syrup is also incorrect. Leaving us with only remaining answer choice which is answer choice B orange juice, which we know that orange juice is a solution. Since the contents of the orange juice are uniform throughout as orange juice without pulp is a homogeneous mixture. So answer choice B is the correct answer.
