Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together. How does the body overcome the hydrophobic nature of lipids? Is it answer choice. A the body uses antibodies. Answer choice B. The body relies on bile salts. Answer choice C. The body uses important enzymes or answer choice D the body depends on the acid base regulation. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following answer choices contains what the body relies on or uses to overcome the hydrophobic nature of lipids. So in order to solve this question, we have to recall what process within the body help the body overcome the hydrophobic nature of lipids, which we know that the body overcomes the hydrophobic nature of lipids through a process known as emulsification. And this term or process emulsification is important since emulsification is the process of breaking down large lipid droplets into smaller and manageable droplets. And that process of emulsification is carried out by using bio salts which are produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder and act as emulsifiers. Since those bile salts surround and disperse lipid droplets, which in turn increases the surface area of the lipids, allowing those digestive enzymes to access and break down the lipids more efficiently. Therefore, the body overcomes the hydrophobic nature of lipids through the use of bio salts. Which is answer choice B, the correct answer since those bios salts act as emulsifiers carrying out the process of emulsification, which increases the surface area of the lipids, allowing digestive enzymes to access and break down the lipids more efficiently. So answer choice B is the only correct answer choice. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
