Hello everyone. Today, we have the following problem name the alky shown below a 33 dimethyl five hep B 55 dimethyl two hep C three, dimethyl five hep or D five methyl two hep. So with naming this alk kind, we have to include the longest carbon chain and also ensure that we give the alky here the lowest number as it is the highest priority group. So we will start numbering from left to right. Noting that our alky is on carbon two, we have carbons 456 and seven. So our parent name is two HEP D two because our alky begins on carbon at two. And just a side note with an alky between two different carbons, it always is named using the carbon with the lowest number. So in this case, it's two. So we have Hept and then iron because it is an alky that gets rid of answer choices A and C, we then have to name substituents and we see that we have two methyl groups on carbon five. So they would be named five comma five dash dimethyl because there are two of them. And then when we combine that with a parent name, we arrive at Trace B which is 55 dimethyl to Hepton is our answer overall, I hope is helped. And until next time.
