Hi everyone here we have a question asking us to name the falling compound and identify its organic functional group. So here we have an ester. And what an ester is is any element bonded to a carbon that's double bonded to an oxygen that's bonded to an oxygen that's bonded to any element. So that is an ester. That is it's organic functional group. And now to name it. So we want to name it, we want to name the longest chain and we want to start with the double bonded oxygen. So we have 12345. And now we need to figure out what our prefixes. So that's five. So it's gonna be Penta. So our base name is going to be Penta No eight. And now we need to name our groups. So if we look at carbon four we have a methyl group. And on our right of our oxygen we have two carbons which is an ethyl. So when we put all of this together, our name is ethel four Meth or penso. No. Eight. So our final answer is it is an ester and its name is ethel for methyl Penton. Oh wait, thank you for watching. Bye.
