Video transcript

Hey everyone where asked which of the following statements about the general trend of electro negativity in the periodic table is correct. Now, before we look at our answer choices, let's go ahead and think about what we've learned when we look at a periodic table and two are very right at the top, we have flooring, and we know that this is the most electro negative element. And if we look at the very left at the bottom, we have francy um and we know this to be the least electro negative element based on this information, our trend would be that as we move to the right, our electro negativity increases, but as we move down a period, our electro negativity decreases. So our answer here is going to be answer choice C, which states what we just explained, electro negativity increases from left to right and decreases down a period in the periodic table. Now, I hope that made sense. And let us know if you have any questions.
