Hey everyone we're asked to determine which has a larger band gap between aluminum arsenide and aluminum antimony died. Now when we think about a larger band gap, we know that as our electro negativity difference between our two elements increase, this means our band gap will also increase. Looking at our two semiconductors, we see that we have aluminum in each. So we have to compare our arsenic and our antimony. Now thinking about our electro negativity trends, we know that our electro negativity will increase as we move to the right of our periodic table and as we move up a group. Now when we compare arsenic and antimony, we can see that arsenic is higher in the periodic table. So this means it will have a higher electro negativity than our antimony. So the electro negativity difference between aluminum and arsenic will be higher in comparison to aluminum and antimony. So our answer here is going to be aluminum arsenic and this will have the larger band gap. So I hope that made sense. And let us know if you have any questions
