Welcome back everyone. Let's look at our next problem, determine if the two statements below correctly or incorrectly describe tissue specific alternative splicing. So we recall tissue specific alternative splicing has to do with the fact that in different tissues you might have your um transcribed RNA. Spliced in different ways to produce different mature M. RNA. Is that get translated into proteins. And this occurs differently in different tissues which is really really crucial in early embryonic development, differentiation of tissues, development of organs and maintaining those different tissue cell types in different tissues. So let's evaluate our two statements here. Um Choice statement One says alternative splicing or a. S regulates gene expression patterns at the pre transcription all level. Well this is not a correct statement because splicing occurs after D. N. A. Has been transcribed into RNA. Has to do with splicing out the introns. The non coding regions of the M. R. N. A. To to produce a mature M. RNA that will be translated. So it happens at a post Transcription level. So choice our statement one is incorrect. Now let's look at statement to statement two says numerous alternatively spliced transcripts are elicited in a cell type specific manner. Well, this is a correct statement because we have in different cell types. The M. RNA is spliced in alternate ways and there's many many different alternate splicing that occurs in all the different cell types of the body, especially early in development. So when we look at our answer choices here, we're looking for choice be only statement two is correct. So again determine if the two statements below correctly or incorrectly describe tissue specific alternative splicing. The answer choice B Only statement two is correct that numerous alternatively spiced transcripts are elicited in a cell type specific manner. See you in the next video.
