Video transcript

Hello everyone today, we are being asked to identify the organic product of the reaction below. So here we have a key tone also noted by this oxygen carbon double bond here and we are reacting it with hydrogen cyanide as well as hydrogen gas here. And so whenever we have a ketone mixing with hydrogen cyanide, you're going to produce what's known as a sino hydrant. Where in our ketone, R C double O bon is replaced with not only a C hydroxyl group but also a C cyanide group. And so what that's going to look like is we're going to draw our original structure here, the backbone. But instead of that ketone we're going to have two different groups. We're going to have this hydroxyl group and we're going to have this cyanide group. And this is going to be our final answer. I hope this helped. And until next time.
