Hey everyone, we're asked to identify the covalin compound among the following. Now we've learned that a covalin compound is going to be a nonmetal plus a non metal. Now starting off with answer choice A we have potassium chloride and this is a metal plus a non metal. So this would be an ionic compound. Next looking at sodium sulfide again, we have a medal plus a non metal are metal being our sodium and sulfur being our non metal. So this is an ionic compound. Now looking at answer choice C. We have di chlorine, try oxide and this is in fact a nonmetal plus a nonmetal. So this is a covalin compound which is going to be our answer. But let's go ahead and look at answer choice D which is calcium oxide, calcium is our medal, while oxygen is our nonmetal. So again we have an ionic compound. Now, I hope this made sense. And let us know if you have any questions.
