Hello everyone today. We have the following problem. Hypothetical reversible reaction of M two N. Is represented by the following five figures. Blue spheres represent em while yellow spheres represents in the progress of the reaction is depicted by the figures from left to right. Does the reaction reach equilibrium in any of the figures? If so, which figures show the system in equilibrium? So we're gonna go through each figure and we're going to decide if it's an equal agreement. For figure one. We have all blue spheres. So this tells us that the reaction hasn't even started yet. There's no reaction even going on. So an image one, it is not an equilibrium, so not in equilibrium For figure two, there are 10 blue and two yellow. This tells us that the reaction is still progressing. Therefore this is not an equilibrium and there's an unequal amount as well For three we have eight blue And we have six or 4 yellow. Once again the reaction is still progressing not an equilibrium. For our 4th figure We have six blue and we have six yellow, there is a reaction and it is still progressing. Once again there's still more blue getting turned into yellow spheres. And so we can see that there is no equilibrium. Once again In the 5th and final image we see that we have four blue spheres And eight yellow spheres. Once again this reaction is still progressing and there's no equilibrium, the more the reaction progresses, the less likely it is to be an equilibrium.
