Hello everyone today. We are being asked to consider the di substituted benzene below and then to identify the name of the compound. So the first thing we wanna do is we wanted to know the parent name of this compound and we can easily identify that by the Ben zine ring that is present. So the parent name is benzene. The second thing I wanna do is we want to identify any substitute parents. Substitue ints are essentially anything that is not a part of the parent chain. And we see here that we have a browning and a chlorine group attached to it. And so we have to we have to determine what position each of these are in. And so to do that we must start alphabetically. So we must do alphabetical ordering of these two groups bro. Mean is first in the alphabet B comes before C. So therefore this would be one bromo as we're counting across This chlorine chlorine group would be for chlor oh or on the carbon four. And so when putting this name together we must start with the substitue ints as usual. And we'll start in alphabetical order which will be one dash bromo dash four dash chlor oh and then the parent name of then zine, I hope this helped. And until next time
