Hello everyone today we are being told that benzene is treated as a substitution in the compound below. Were then asked to give the name of this compound that we have here. So the first thing I wanna do is you want to denote a parent name. So you want to find a parent chain whether that's the longest carbon chain or the longest ring chain. We have two options here essentially we can start from This chain on the left. So we can say 4567. We can say that we have our longest carbon chain here being seven carbons. Or we can go along in the ring and say that we have carbons being the longest chain. Of course the longest chain will be the linear branch. And so that's going to get a hep tain as the parent name looking a little bit closer. However, we noticed that we have double bonds present here and whenever we have double bonds present that turns the compound into an al keen. And so more specifically a 24 dying. So whenever we have an all keen we end it with E and E. And because we have two of them, we name the prefix di di meaning two. And so we always want to put where we located those and so we found those at the second carbon and the fourth carbon. Hence the two comma four dash dying. And so we know we have our parent chain now and we must name any substitute parents. And so hanging off of this parent chain, we have this huge ring. And this ring is known as a final. More specifically It is on the 6th carbon. So we're gonna say that it is six fennel Putting this name together. We're going to start with this substitue in which would be our 6-5ennel. And then we're going to start off with where we located that double those double bonds. And so we located those at Carbons two and 4. And then our parent chain is going to be Octa for It'll be hep to for seven, dying because there's two double bonds. And with that we have our final answer. I hope this helped. And until next time.
