Hi, everyone. Let's take a look at our next question. Which of the following statements is correct regarding the caloric values of each nutrient. A proteins provide more calories per gram than carbohydrates and fats. B, carbohydrates provide more calories per gram than proteins and fats. C fats provide more calories per gram than proteins and carbohydrates or D the caloric value of each nutrient is equal regardless of the type. Well, our answer here will be choice. C fats provide the most caloric value of any nutrient more per gram than proteins and carbohydrates. Proteins and carbohydrates are about the same fats provide about nine calories per gram of energy when broken down. While proteins and carbohydrates provide about four calories per gram. So proteins and carbohydrates similar fats higher. So we can eliminate choices A and B and then when we look at choice D, well, we obviously know looking at these values that they have different caloric values and that's due to different chemical compositions. And that means that each type of molecule stores, it has a different amount of energy content. So when it's broken down, releases a different amount of energy and fat having the most is due thought to be due to the fact that fats have more ch bonds, then proteins are carbohydrates and those release more energy when broken in the digestion process. So that's why choice D is not correct. The caloric value of each nutrient is not equal. So our answer here, the correct statement about caloric values of each nutrient choice. C fats provide more calories per gram than proteins and carbohydrates. See you in the next video.
