Hi, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together. A positive net filtration pressure or NFP in the capillaries favors filtration over which of the following is it? Answer choice. A excretion, answer choice B, secretion, answer choice C respiration or answer choice D reabsorption. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following factors do. The capillaries favor filtration over in a positive net filtration pressure. So in order to solve this question, we have to recall what we have learned about net filtration pressure in the capillaries and what it favors filtration and over. And we can recall that net filtration pressure refers to the balance between the forces favoring filtration and the forces favoring reabsorption across the capillary walls. And in the case of a positive net filtration pressure, a positive NFP favors filtration which is fluid going out of the capillaries and into the interstitial space over reabsorption, which would be the fluid entering the capillaries from that interstitial space. So, a positive NFP or net filtration pressure tells us that more fluid is flowing out of the capillaries than is flowing in as it favors filtration over reabsorption. So answer choice. D reabsorption is the correct answer and all other answer choices are incorrect. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
