Hi, everyone. Let's take a look at this practice problem together, the pituitary gland is an endocrine gland that secretes the following hormones. Except the answer options are a vasopressin B AC THC thyroid stimulating hormone and D somatostatin. Recall that the pituitary gland has an anterior lobe and a posterior lobe. And each lobe secretes different hormones. So which of our hormones and the answer options is not secreted by the pituitary gland. Option, a vasopressin. This is a hormone that helps to regulate the amount of water in the body and is secreted by the posterior lobe. So, option A is incorrect. Option B ac th is a hormone that stimulates adrenal glands to produce cortisol and other hormones. It is secreted by the anterior lobe. So, option B is incorrect. Option C thyroid stimulating hormone is secreted by the anterior lobe as well and it stimulates the thyroid gland to produce thyroid hormones. So, the correct answer has to be somatostatin. Somatostatin is also known as growth hormone inhibiting hormone. It is produced by the G I tract pancreas, hypothalamus and the nervous system. So the correct answer is option D, somatostatin. All right, everyone. I hope you found this helpful and I'll see you soon for the next practice problem.
