The concepts introduced in this lesson are transferrable to many other languages like Java and Ruby. First, we look at Python's built-in types and how to assign variables. We also go over how to debug errors, use built-in libraries, and accept user input. Then we take a small break from coding to learn about Python's history. Next, you learn how to write functions for reusing blocks of code as well as how to use methods to manipulate strings of characters. And finally, we bring all of the concepts together to write a Mad Libs program that produces a poem or a story from user input. Let's get started.
