Hey everyone today, we're being asked to determine what each point from A to G. Represents in this phase diagram below. So let's start off with the really simple ones, C. D. And E. Now respectively, these are going to be our solid liquid and gas states. These are going to be the temperatures and pressures at which the compound, whatever compound we're dealing with exists as a solid liquid and gas generally. And that is what these points represent with this in mind. We can go ahead and take a look at the other points as well, starting with point A. So point A happens at the transition from solid to liquid. So in other words or the transition from a liquid to solid. So this will be our fusion point or sorry, our fusion curve fusion curve and that's where fusion happens. It is also where um melting technically happens. That is our fusion curve. Taking a look at point B down here we have a solid it is the transition point between solid to gas estates which means that this is our sublimation curve sublimation curve, It is the range of pressures and temperatures in which sublimation can occur. F is the triple point, it is the pressure and temperature at which all three phases can exist simultaneously. So that means this is our triple point triple point finally, Point G. Which is above the critical point which would usually be right about here. Point G is known as our supercritical fluid state. This is super. And let's write this green. It's where the supercritical fluid will exist which is essentially a state at a pressure and temperature at which the differences between the gas and liquid state are indistinguishable, but below a pressure at which it can be formed into a solid. So this is a supercritical fluid state, so that is G. Let me just draw arrows to everything. So this is our fusion curve, our sublimation curve and our triple point right here. So I hope this helps.
