welcome back everyone. We're told that alcohol obtained by butane or from butane by replacing one of the hydrogen is with O. H. Is called to butin. All right. The structural formula for our compound. So, we want to recall how to drop butane first and we should recall that our prefix butte tells us that we have four carbons in butane where the main ending tells us that they should all be single bond connections. So we'll draw out our four carbons that should be inside of our structure. Now what we are drawing is too beautiful. So looking at our name for two. Beautiful. We should also recognize that we have in the beginning of our name to with the dash and what this means is that we have a substitute wint bonded two Carbon 2, two Carbon Number two. And so that substitution would be this O. H. That the prompt mentions which we should recall is our alcohol group. So if we label this first carbon as one, this is carbon number two. This is carbon number three and this is carbon number four. We would place our substitution here at carbon number two. And so what this means is that we would go ahead and just make our bond to an O. H. Group and we'll just use the color red here. Now to finish off our structure, we want to recall that each of these carbons must have a full octet meaning they must be bonded to four atoms right now this carbon carbon number one is just bonded to this carbon. So we need to fill in the implied hydrogen bonds to complete its octet. So we would fill in three hydrogen surrounding our first carbon. And now we can see that this carbon has 1234 atoms that is bonded to meaning its octet is complete and it's stable. Looking at this carbon, we can see that right now. It's just bonded to this oxygen here where the oxygen is bonded to the hydrogen. So let's just draw that. So it's clear the oxygen here is what's bonded to our carbon. So this carbon is only bonded to 123 things right now, so we can fill in. It's implied bond to hydrogen below. So we're going to follow suit for the rest of our carbons here. We would fill in two bonds to hydrogen And then here we would fill in three bonds to hydrogen. And what we have drawn out is our structural formula here, specifically our structural formula for to mutiny all. And so our final answer is going to be this entire structure that we have drawn here.
