Hello everyone today. We are being asked to determine that if we want to turn nitrous oxide into nitric oxygen gas, a blank is required. And so there's a pneumonic known as oil rig where you have oxidation is losing electrons and reduction is gaining electrons. And so if you have something that's going through oxidation, it's automatically going to need a reducing agent. It's always going to be the opposite. And so when you have a something that's undergoing reduction, you are going to be using an oxidizing agent. This ultimately means that the element that is gaining electrons slash being reduced is the oxidizing agent. And for the element that is losing electrons or being oxidized, it's the reducing agent. And so for this problem you are gaining a an oxygen atom, therefore you are undergoing reduction and so therefore you are going to need an oxidizing agent or B. I hope this helped. And until next time.
