welcome back everyone in this example, we need to give the structure of the addition polymer formed by the following monomer unit. Now we want to recall what a polymer is, recall that it's a long chain molecule formed from smaller structures. Or we can say smaller molecules linked together. And so what we should recognize is that we have the given structure being tetra como ethylene. This is our given monomer and recall that to form our polymer structure, we're going to remove our pi bond, recall our pi bond as our double bond to create links between other units of our monomer, tetra bromo ethylene. So what we're going to have is the result of an open chain here where we're going to place a dotted line because we're just focusing on this bit of our structure where we have carbon bonded to two bromine atoms. As given in our structure. Then we're moving up and we have carbon bonded to two bromine atoms. Now we've created that link to another unit of our tetra ethylene where we have carbon bonded to two bromine atoms And then carbon bonded to two bromine atoms. Yet again, another link created from moving that removing that double bond From our second monomer where we have carbon bonded to two bromine atoms And again carbon bonded to two bromine atoms. Now we have another pi bond link where we're linking another monomer unit of tetra Bmo ethylene where we have carbon bonded to two bromine atoms on one side and then on the other side of the structure, carbon bonded to two bromine atoms and we'll just end it off here, where we have carbon bonded to two bromine atoms from our next pi bond that we removed to create another link where we have a open ended chain here and the started line to show that this is just a continuous pattern of these continuously linked monomers of tetra boma ethylene to form our addition polymer. And so for our final answer, we have this entire structure that we've drawn out here. So just to be even more detailed recall that if we have brackets here surrounding our polymer structure with a N on the outside, this details that and is a very large unit of our monomers being continuously linked to form this polymer structure.
