Welcome back. Let's look at our next question which of the following pairs best depict the interaction of the endocrine and the nervous system. Let's recall recall from our content videos that the endocrine and nervous systems are closely paired. Um Part of the endocrine system. The glands the pituitary is in the brain. And we have the conversion of electrical signals in the brain to chemical signals hormones being sent throughout the body and having effects on bodily systems. So let's look at the different examples they give us and see which one would say best depicts this interaction choice A says steroid and P. T. Th um Ex asteroid is found an insect larvae. It's called the molting hormone P. T. Th. Which is pro thoracic a tropic hormone Why we shorten it uh is released by neuro secretary cells in the brain and it causes goes to the cells of the larvae and causes the synthesis of the excess steroid which causes molting. So we've got a release of P. T. Th. In the brain cells causing this hormone synthesis in the body resulting in molting choice B. And choice. See both involved G. N. R. H. That's gonna add a trapping releasing hormone. G. N. R. H. Is released by the hypothalamus in the brain. This then travels to the pituitary gland also in the brain and where it stimulates the release of LH the lutin. Izing hormone and FSH by the pituitary. These then travel to the female reproductive system where they trigger follicular ripening and ovulation. So we've got release of G. N. R. H. In the hypothalamus causing the release of LH and FSH in the pituitary area of the brain. And then moving on to effect the ovaries and female reproductive system. Finally we have choice D. G. H. R. H. Which is also a released in the hypothalamus of the brain. This causes the release of G. H. G. H. R. H. Is growth hormone releasing hormone. G. H. Is the growth hormone in the pituitary. And this goes on to all the bodily tissues as part of growth as a growth hormone. So when we want to look at which best depicts this interaction of endocrine and nervous system that close pairing. Um we have in choice A. P. T. Th and a steroid. We have something being released by the brain causing this direct synthesis of a hormone in the rest of the body. In choices B. C. And D. We have something released in the hypothalamus in the brain causing release of another hormone and the pituitary are of the brain traveling to systems of the body. So that's a little more distance. We've got two areas of the brain and then bodily system whereas choice A. We have direct release in the brain. So this is a hormone in the body. So we can say that Choice A act destroyed and P. T. Th best depicts the interaction of endocrine and nervous system directly. And we'll go ahead and eliminate choices B. C. And D. A little more of an indirect interaction.
