Hi everyone here's our next question. All of the following belong to lipids except so one of these is not a lipid. So again, always a good idea to take a quick look over all our choices in case there's anything obvious that jumps out at us. Um The first thing that might jump out at us is choice be fosse Phil lipid has the word lipid in it. So right away that just send us quickly to eliminate that choice. Since it is a lipid. As we recall, phosphor lipids are those molecules that make up the double layer of the cell membrane. Again, looking over our answers where if we're in a test situation, time is of the essence. Um I would hope that choice a glucose would jump out at us. Glucose is maybe the most famous of the carbohydrates. So right away we can say carbohydrates, not lipid. So that is going to be our answer. I'm going to go ahead and highlight it. Choice A and on a test, I would hope we zoom in on that pretty quickly. But again, for the sake of working through the problem, we'll look at all the answers here. So let's move down to choice C. Choice C says carotenoids. Now, those are the beginning of this can help us think of carrots. Those are those pigments, the red, orange and yellow pigments. And they are they are lipids are a class of lipids called Turpin oid. And um they have long hydrocarbon chains that make them fat soluble, that make them lipo filic And so we know that is not our answer because they are a class of lipid but maybe a little more obscure choice D triglycerides. Um That also is a fair candidate for us. We look over it, jumping out right away. Triglycerides are again very well known lipid. We recall from our content videos that they consist of a molecule of glycerol with three fatty acid chains. So the try comes from. Um so again very well known lipid. Um so even if we didn't remember what a carotenoid is, we could probably eliminate fossil lipid and triglyceride, hopefully pretty quickly zoom in on glucose. Even if we didn't remember what a carotenoid was. See you in the next video.
