Video transcript

Hello everyone. And in today's video we're going to go over the following problem. So which of the following answer choices does not have a direct effect on the local climate. So we're giving certain characteristics and we're going to go over them one by one, beginning by answer choice A which is going to be some angle. So if we look at how the earth is angled, if we have sun rays hitting the equator and we have sun rays hitting use the poles, we can see that these sun rays are going to be just stronger and they're going to bring on more heat than the sun rays hitting the holes. That's why we have cooler climates as we go up on earth. And so that is going to be actually a correct answer choice and we will not cancel it out. Moving on, we have prevailing wind as we see here depending on the direction that the wind is coming from, it will have just different characteristics. For example, wind coming from the west tends to be warmer and so it will warm up the location that the wind is coming into. So this is actually a correct answer choice as well when we know we have altitude, if you know that if we live in a mountain, for example, there is a lot of wind in that mountaintop, it is very cold, there tends to be even snow up there and so this is actually going to affect the local climate as well. So this is actually a correct answer choice. The only answer choice from the choices given that will not have a direct effect on the local climate is going to be soil type. And so we're going to highlight that as being our final answer to our question. I really hope this video helped you, and I hope to see you on the next one.
