Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together which type of foot arch is formed by the metatarsal bases, the cuboid and the three cuneiform bones. Is it answer choice? A the transverse arch. Answer choice B the medial longitudinal arch, answer choice C the lateral longitudinal arch or answer choice. D the horizontal arch. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following answer choices is the correct term of the foot arch that is formed by the metatarsal bases, the cuboid and the three cuneiform bones. So in order to solve this question, we have to recall what is included in each, each of the following types of foot arches to determine which type is formed by the metatarsal bases, the cuboid and the three cuneiform bones. So starting off with answer choice. A, we have the transverse arch which we know that the transverse arch is the foot arch formed by the metatarsal bases, the cuboid and the cuneiform bones. Next, we have the medial longitudinal arch which we know that the medial longitudinal arch is formed by the calcaneus, the talus, the navicular, the cuneiform and the first three metatarsal bones. Next, we have the lateral longitudinal arch which we know that the lateral longitudinal arch is formed by the calcaneus and the fifth metatarsal bone. And lastly, we have the horizontal arch which we can identify that answer choice. D the horizontal arch is an incorrect answer. Since the horizontal arch is actually not a standard term that is used when describing foot arches. So answer choice D is incorrect and looking at our answer choices, we can see that answer choice. A the transverse arch is the foot arch that is formed by the metatarsal bases, the cuboid and the cuneiform bones. So answer choice. A transverse arch is the correct answer and answer choices B and C are both incorrect since they are formed by other structures and are not what we are looking for. So answer choice A is the only correct answer choice. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
