About our authors

Kelly Mollica is an assistant professor of teaching and the assistant chair of the management department at the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis where she teaches principles of management, strategic management, and human resource management. Dr. Mollica has a PhD in Business Administration from the Smeal College of Business at the Pennsylvania State University. She has published peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, and cases on various management topics. She has won several teaching awards, including a George Johnson Teaching Fellowship. Dr. Mollica previously owned a consulting firm and has conducted leadership training and human resource management consulting in for-profit and nonprofit organizations. She has also worked in management, marketing, and sales in the healthcare industry. Dr. Mollica is a dog lover who has fostered over 100 mostly large-breed rescue dogs. She enjoys reading 19th-century British literature and is an avid Jane Austen fan.

Nicole M. Coomber is a clinical professor in management and organization at the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. She teaches organizational behavior in the undergraduate program, the management consulting practicum in the MBA, and leadership and teamwork in the online MBA program. She has served as the practitioner-liaison and membership coordinator for the Management Education & Development Division of the Academy of Management. In 2018 she was recognized as a “Woman of Influence” at the University of Maryland and is the moderator for the annual Smith Women Inspire Event. Dr. Coomber completed her PhD in Education Policy and Leadership at the University of Maryland in the College of Education in 2012. She is married to a federal government attorney, and they are actively involved in their community in Washington, DC. They have 4 lovely and spirited boys.
