This book shows photography students how to use these two great products together to achieve results they could not have produced working with one alone. First, the book provides a quick overview of the cataloging functions of Lightroom -- useful for Photoshop students who may have used a different photo organization tool (or none at all!). This is followed by an introduction to the basic Lightroom-Photoshop workflow. Then the reader works through a series of projects that focus on taking images from Lightroom into Photoshop to use tools not available in Lightroom. Typical workflows include fixing common photo problems (like blur caused by camera shake), bringing out important details or adding creative effects with adjustment layers, or layering images to create composites (including adding text or 3D objects), or doing precise photo retouching.
Classroom in a Book®, the best-selling series of hands-on software training workbooks, helps students learn the features of Adobe software quickly and easily. Classroom in a Book offers what no other book or training program does–an official training series from Adobe Systems Incorporated, developed with the support of Adobe product experts. The online companion files include all the necessary assets for readers to complete the projects featured in each chapter as well as ebook updates when Adobe releases new features for Creative Cloud customers. And new to this release, all buyers of the book get full access to the Web Edition: a Web-based version of the complete ebook enhanced with video and interactive multiple-choice quizzes. As always with the Classroom in a Book, Instructor Notes are available for teachers to download.

Adobe's official full-color Lightroom and Photoshop CC training resource for every digital photography student

  • Use the latest versions of Lightroom and Photoshop CC together to achieve extraordinary results and unprecedented productivity
  • Step-by-step tutorials and lesson files (illustrated with video in the web edition) -- all developed with the full support of Adobe's product experts
  • Ideal for photographers at all levels of experience who subscribe to Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe's Creative Cloud Photography Plan
Integration between Lightroom and Photoshop is smoother than ever, with both programs able to share Cloud-based photo libraries as well as exchange images via Adobe's expanding line of mobile device apps.

New features added to Lightroom in 2018 include preset and profile syncing, batch editing on the desktop, easier preset creation, local storage options for albums, and much more.
New features added to Photoshop since Jan 2018 include select subject which allows you to select prominent objects in your photo with a single click, improved support for high-res monitors, Select and Mask improvements, and better integration with Microsoft Dial.

New material will show how to use Lightroom Mobile to bring photos from your device into the Lightroom Library on the desktop. Also, the book will describe how to create composites on a mobile device by bringing in images using Lightroom Mobile and then stacking them in Photoshop Mix.
Because it is now possible to combine photos within Lightroom to create panoramas and HDR (high dynamic range) images, there is less coverage of taking images into Photoshop for those purposes.

The online web edition incorporates screencast video demonstrations of the step-by-step tutorials described in the book.
