<v ->In lesson two, we'll take the very simple index page</v> that we created in the previous lesson. And start to fill in the sample page with content index page is the name for the default homepage on a website. And we'll use our index page to begin learning about the different HTML tags that contain and modify text. We'll start by learning about HTML tags that contain text such as headings or paragraphs. These tags can modify the appearance of the text they contain, but their main purpose is to determine the overall structure of the page. You can imagine these elements as being like cardboard boxes that you can put papers inside later in part two will be putting boxes inside boxes, inside boxes, and then arranging them in all a manner of ways on the page. But for now we are going to keep it really simple. Next we'll learn about HTML tags that modify text that is which are mainly used to change the appearance of the content they contain. For example, we'll learn about tags that can format text as italic or bold without affecting everything around to visualize this, these elements, aren't separate things like a box. They're more like taking a printed sheet out of a box and highlighting some text with a marker. The highlight on the paper doesn't affect the nature of the box that contains it. And the highlight doesn't affect the text around it. We'll cap off the lesson by learning to add links to other pages, links to images and even linked images.
