Hey everyone, we're asked to draw out the structure of the following alkaline for ethel. For metal to hex. Sign 1st. Looking at our modifier, we have that y any and we know that this tells us that we have an AL kind At carbon # two. Next looking at that prefix of hex, this tells us that we have a six carbon chain, which is going to be our root chain, or we can also call it our parent chain and this is our longest chain. Now looking at our substitue ints, we have four ethyl for metal. This tells us that we have substitute Wint's At carbon # four and they're going to be a metal and an ethyl group. Now let's go ahead and draw this out. So we have a six carbon chain and we have a triple bond located at carbon # two. Again, that location assigned is going to be our first triple bonded carbon. So that's carbon number two. And at carbon number four we have to substitute Wint's and that's going to be our ethel and our metal group. So this is going to be the final structure for our Al Qaeda. Now, I hope that made sense. And let us know if you have any questions
