Hey everyone, we're asked to draw lewis dot symbol for the nitrite ion. Now we know that nitrogen is in our group five A. And because it's in our group five a. This means we will have five electrons surrounding it though, since we have that minus three charge. Since we have the nitride ion, we have to add three more electrons surrounding our nitrogen. So in total we will have eight electrons. And to denote that minus three charge, we will add a superscript of minus three and this is going to be our final louis dot symbol.
