Hi everyone for this problem we're being asked what is the equation for the lattice energy of potassium fluoride? Let's recall that lattice energy represents the energy released when one mole of an ionic crystal is formed from its gaseous ions. So let's identify what are our gaseous ions here. So for potassium fluoride we have ionic potassium and ionic potassium is represented by K plus and ionic flooring is represented by F minus. So far equation. We need the gaseous ions forming the crystal. And so what we'll get is our ions are K plus ion plus our fluoride ion is going to form the solid potassium fluoride. Okay. And this is going to be our equation. And when we look at our answer choices, we can see that A is going to be our answer. Okay, that's the end of this problem. I hope this was helpful.
