Hi everyone here we have the oxidation number of oxygen, which is almost always negative too. But there are a few exceptions, such as peroxide, where the oxidation number is negative one and another exception is oxy fluoride. Were asked to identify the oxidation number of oxygen and oxy fluoride. The flooring Is in group seven on the periodic table. An element in Group seven have an oxidation number of negative one. So it's gonna have an oxidation number of negative one. For the oxidation state, oxy fluoride, it's gonna be equal to the oxidation state of oxygen Plus two oxidation state of Florence because we have two florin in the compound, the oxidation state oxy fluoride Is zero because it is a neutral compound because it has no charge. An oxidation state of Florence is negative one. We're gonna have zero because oxidation state of oxygen Plus two times negative one we're gonna have zero. It was also a state of oxygen -2.
