Well, let's recall from our content videos what activation energy is and activation energy is that minimum amount of energy the reactant molecules must possess in order to undergo a specific reaction. So, let's look through our answer choices. Remembering that we are looking for a false statement about activation energy. So, let's look at choice A choice A says it is the minimum amount of energy required to start a chemical reaction. Well, that's a true statement. Um the molecules, the reactive molecules need to reach that activation energy level before the reaction will start. So that cannot be our correct answer. Choice B says the higher the activation energy, the faster the reaction. This is a false statement. The higher the activation energy. The slower the reaction. And that's because it's going to take longer before enough reactive molecules reach that energy level. They need to for the reaction to go forward. So, Choice B is going to be our answer. Since it's a false statement about reaction energy choice E says catalysts lower the activation energy. Well, that is a true statement. Um, catalysts lower the energy of the transition state that the molecules have to reach for the reaction take place and therefore lower the energy level that the reactive molecules need to reach. That's why they speed up reaction since they lower the activation energy. That's a true statements are not our answer. And the choice D. All of the above. Obviously not all our answer choices are false, so Choice D. Is not our answer either. So which of the following statements about activation energy is false.
