Hi, everybody. Let's look at our next problem. A specialized lymphatic capillary found in the small intestine that is responsible for the absorption of dietary fats and fat soluble vitamins is termed a appendix B glome C lacteal or D via. Well, one thing to note right away is that while three of our answer choices are structures found in the intestines, one of them is not. So we can rule out right away choice B glome because the g glome are in the kidneys, not in the intestines. The glome li is that capillary network that filters the blood in the kidney. So now we look at the rest of our answer choices and twist the villa um is not a capillary. A villa is a projection to a small finger like projections that line the inner surface of the small intestines. So they're sort of extensions of the intestinal lining, not vessels. And their purpose is to increase the surface area for the absorption of nutrients. So they're in the small intestine, they're involved in the absorption of nutrients, but they're not vessels. They are parts of the lining. So tri d is not our answer. And then with a, the appendix, uh also not a vessel. Uh It's actually found in the large intestine uh attached to the of the large intestine. And it's a small finger like pouch that used to be thought of as just sort of a residual organ with no purpose. Um But it's now thought to be beneficial in that it can serve as a reservoir for beneficial bacteria and play a role in the immune system. But they're often removed as you may know and are not a capillary, not a vessel. So not our answer. So just by purpose of elimination, we've arrived at our answer. Choice C lact. In this case, um I would kind of probably approach it that way because I think the other structures are a little more well known and might spring to the top of your mind faster than lac pele and lacteal is our what we're looking for here. It's a lymphatic vessel. Yeah, in the small intestine and its role is to help absorb fat and fat soluble vitamins. So again, that specialized lymphatic ca capillary in the small intestine for the absorption of fats. Choice C lacteal. See you in the next video.
