Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together. Which of the following cranial nerves is the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system. Is it answer choice. A cranial nerve seven, answer choice B, cranial nerve eight, answer choice. C cranial nerve nine or answer choice. D cranial nerve 10. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following pairs of cranial nerves is the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system. So, in order to solve this question, we have to recall what we have learned about the different pairs of cranial nerves. And which pair is the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system, which we can recall that the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system is the vagus nerve, which the vagus nerve oversees a vast array of crucial bodily functions, including the control of mood, immune response, digestion and heart rate. And the vagus nerve also establishes a connection between the brain and the gastrointestinal tract as well as it is responsible for sending information about the state of the inner organs to the brain via ent fibers. However, looking at our answer choices, we can identify that we do not see vagus nerve. But we can also recall that the vagus nerve is the 10th pair of cranial nerves. Making answer choice D cranial nerve 10, the correct answer as cranial nerve 10 is also referred to as the vagus nerve and serves as the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system. So answer choice D is the only correct answer choice. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
