Hey, everyone. Let's take a look at this question together which of the following is controlled by the somatic nervous system. Is it answer choice? A, the digestive tract, answer choice B, the bronchi of the respiratory system. Answer choice C the muscles of the upper back and neck or answer choice. D cardiac muscle. Let's work this problem out together to try to figure out which of the following answer. Choices contains something that is controlled by the somatic nervous system. So in order to solve this question, we have to recall what we know is controlled by the somatic nervous system to determine which of the following answer choices is the correct answer. And we know that when we are talking about something that is controlled by the somatic nervous system, we are referring to voluntary control of the skeletal muscles. So looking at our answer choices, which of the following includes skeletal muscles, which we can identify answer choice. C which says the muscles of the upper back and neck, which the muscles of the upper back and neck involves skeletal muscles. So it is under the control of the somatic nervous system. Making answer choice C the correct answer. And we know that answer choice A B and D are all incorrect. Since the digestive tract, the bronchi of the respiratory system and cardiac muscle are all controlled by the autonomic nervous system and not the somatic nervous system. So they are incorrect. Answer. Choice. C is the only answer choice controlled by the somatic nervous system. I hope you found this video to be helpful. Thank you and goodbye.
