Last week, Pearson TQ was invited to a graduation ceremony held for our first cohort of Level 5 Operations/Departmental Manager apprentices from UK Power Networks (UKPN). The learners have worked exceptionally hard for the past 2.5 years to achieve their qualifications, many alongside very busy roles in senior management.
Having this cohort achieve has felt extra special, not just as they were our first with UKPN, but also because the large majority of their programme was completed during the pandemic, with all the additional challenges that Covid-19 brought.
The learners were motivated, engaged, determined to achieve and get the best out of their programme despite the restrictions and their learning being completed online. The majority of the cohort have now completed and achieved end-point assessment (EPA) with a whopping 88% of the group achieving distinction!
The impact our wonderful skills coach, Julie Lucas has had on these learners was made abundantly clear during the event with many heartfelt words spoken - one learner even described her as 'a miracle worker'!
Seeing our learners achieve is the ultimate reward for all the hard work that is put into the programmes we deliver, ensuring our learners are at the heart of everything we do. It reinforces what can be achieved through Apprenticeships. The impact that this programme has had on the learners, their teams and their business was clear, with the closing message from the CEO acknowledging how proud he is of the apprentices' achievement and delighted that UKPN will be left in the capable hands of some exceptional leaders over the coming years.
