Civilian Long Service Awards presented to Army Foundation College (AFC) Pearson TQ (PTQ) tutors Paul Taylor and Viv Lord
Pearson TQ tutors Paul Taylor and Viv Lord were presented with Civilian Long Service Awards, with 17 and 19 years of dedicated service respectively, to Junior Soldiers (JS) passing through the Army Foundation College in Harrogate.
We would like to extend our thanks to Lieutenant Colonel Simon Farebrother CO Army Foundation College for instigating the long service awards initiative and for Brigadier Mike Butterwick, Commander Initial Training Group in presenting the Long Service Awards. It marks a great step forward in the One College Initiative to see civilian colleagues being appreciated in this way, and it means a lot to the individuals concerned and to the wider Pearson TQ and other contractor staff.
The majority of our PTQ tutors have been working successfully on site at the AFC in excess of 10 years, many for much longer, which says something of their passion for developing the JS in our collective charge and it is really appreciated that this service is now being more formally acknowledged.
The Army client wishes to recognise the long service and dedication of the civilian trainers and tutors across its bases and PTQ has many such staff at AFC as elsewhere. Paul and Viv are amongst the first recipients of the long service award; both teaching IT and both managing tutor teams. In addition, Paul leads on aspects of special educational needs provision, starting as a learning support assistant at AFC and rising to be a tutor and team coordinator.
Congratulations to Paul and Viv, and thank you once again to the Army for the appreciation of their long service at the AFC in Harrogate.
