Asbestos Awareness - Category A

Overview

This half-day, Asbestos Awareness (Category A) Course provides learners with an understanding of the risks associated with working with asbestos. It considers the types of asbestos and the major diseases associated with asbestos exposure. It outlines how to identify materials that may contain asbestos so that new and existing employees may work more safely whilst on site. This course is designed to assist organisations to be compliant with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012, Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and their legal obligations.    

 

Learning outcomes

The course programme covers:

  • Introduction to asbestos
  • Overview of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
  • Risk management of asbestos.

 

Assessment and training

The course is delivered through classroom-based tutorials virtually or face-to-face.
