Apprenticeships explained
Apprenticeships are available across a number of different levels of role: from apprenticeships for new starters to higher and degree apprenticeships. An apprenticeship is on-the-job training available to those aged 16 and over. Apprenticeships must last for at least 12 months, typically lasting between 12 to 18 months.
All Apprentices have a personal, dedicated Skills Coach who will provide support/coaching throughout their programme including additional phone and email help. All our Apprentices undertake a regular review of their progress with reviews every 10-12 weeks; with additional Skills Coach check ins to support Apprentice progress throughout the programme. Where social distancing measures are in force, this is face to face via technology.
We recommend the Apprentice has a nominated work-based mentor, preferably their Line Manager as they are best placed to provide workplace support for the Apprentice, throughout their Apprentice journey. This will also ensure the greatest engagement with and support from the lines of business.
The Skills Coach will assist in this process supporting both the Apprentice and their work-based mentor in ensuring they have the best opportunity to complete their programme and personalise their learning experience.
