Key improvements based on feedback from users strengthen the program

New - Three new Integrated Performance Assessments (IPAs) target each of the three modes of communication: interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational. These IPAs use authentic sources and focus on real-life contexts that students will find both engaging and meaningful.
New - A new cultural feature entitled ¿Lo sabías? within the Competencia cultural spreads (two per chapter) showcases the vast diversity of Hispanic cultures. These features require students to recognize their own cultural filter, acknowledge alternative perspectives, and apply their new understanding to realistic situations in personal and professional contexts.
Updated features improve the cohesiveness of chapter content throughout all three parts: El ámbito personal, El ámbito profesional, and Actividades culminantes.

New - Clear learning objectives in chapter openers serve as a checklist for student progress, helping students to keep end goals in focus.
Updated - Strengthened thematic threads maintain chapter focus throughout all three parts, facilitating knowledge retention and deepening learning.
Updated - More target vocabulary and grammar integrated throughout each chapter enhances language acquisition.
Updated - Content has been reorganized to better fit each ámbito, with Lectura literaria moved to Parte 1 and Lectura de género variado moved to Parte 2. This will help students better understand the application of this content to their personal lives and professional ambitions.

New - Engaging activities available in MyLab Spanish make online teaching and learning easier.

More than 75 new eText activities for assignment and completion online offer abundant options and flexibility for digital users and instructors of hybrid and fully online courses. May of these activities may be machine-scored, to reduce grading time for instructors.
Selected instructor-graded activities using MediaShare and LiveChat offer additional opportunities for student interaction and collaboration, resulting in more language use and thus enhanced language acquisition.

MediaShare is a comprehensive file-upload tool that allows students to create and post video assignments, role-plays, group projects, and more.
LiveChat is a synchronous audio and video recording tool that provides students with the opportunity to speak with their classmates online in pairs or in groups.

New - High-quality, authentic short films from Pearson’s Cortos en curso collection elevate class discourse and analysis and provide an engaging cultural and artistic culmination to each chapter. Available via MyLab Spanish, the short films were selected for their thematic and cultural relevance, high production quality, rich language diversity, and thought-provoking storylines.
