Market Leader Extra is a Business English course developed in association with the Financial Times. As they do the course, students will learn about business at the same time as learning English. Market Leader includes authentic texts from the Financial Times and other publications to provide students with essential business vocabulary and improve their comprehension skills.
Interviews (twelve per level) with people from the business world develop students’ listening, prediction and note-taking skills, at the same time as giving them an expert perspective on the latest business practices.

Additional case-study lessons encourage collaboration and are taken from realistic business settings.
These case studies are designed to improve students’ communication skills and critical thinking when dealing with business-related problems. Students work together to prepare and present projects or solve problems – very much as they will in their future jobs.
The case studies are linked to the unit’s business topics. Each case study ends with a practical writing task, which reflects the kind of written texts that the students will need to write at work.
