Mike Mayor

Since 2012, Mike has been the driving force behind Pearson's English language learning program – The Global Scale of English.

After a successful English language teaching career, Mike joined Pearson in 2003 and headed up Longman Dictionaries before leading the team of Learning Research and Design scientists who developed the Global Scale of English. He has written academic papers on English language learning, travels the world to talk at events and shares his extensive knowledge and tips on our social media channels.

Mike has a BA (Hons) in French Language and Literature and a Masters in English and Applied Linguistics from Cambridge University..

Bill Bonk

Bill has a love of learning languages and taught English as a foreign language for over a decade in countries such as Italy, Ecuador, Japan, and Brazil. He has an M.A. in Second Language Studies and a PhD in Cognitive Science and has worked on various second language learning (L2) tests within Pearson for the past seven years, including engaging tests for young learners (TELL, English Benchmark Young Learners) and adults (English Benchmark).

His work includes the study of mastery of verbal and nonverbal sequences, the psycholinguistics of word combinations and second language phonological processing, the design and psychometric analysis of second language tests, and growth modeling of assessment data.

Rose Clesham

Rose is the Director of Academic Standards and Measurement in Global Assessment at Pearson. She holds a Master’s in Formative and Summative Assessment from Cambridge University and a Doctorate in Educational Assessment.

Rose is a Fellow of the Association for Education Assessment – Europe (AEA-E) and a Fellow at the University of London (UCL). She has worked extensively on OECD PISA assessments, co-writing the 2015 Scientific Literacy Framework. Rose lectures on educational standards, validity and reliability issues nationally and internationally.

Ken Beatty

Ken has a PhD in Curriculum Studies, a Master’s in Fine Art, and Diplomas in Education and Applied Linguistics. He is an expert in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) and is the author/co-author of more than 140 textbooks and readers from the primary through university levels.

He also writes and reviews on the topic of CALL. Ken has worked in secondary schools and universities in Asia, the Middle East, and North and South America, lecturing on language teaching and computer-assisted language learning from the primary through university levels. Ken has given 400+ teacher-training sessions and 100+ conference presentations in over 30 countries.

Jeanne Perrett

Jeanne graduated from Sussex University with a degree in English Literature and has lived in Greece since 1981. Working in the language teaching sector for over thirty-five years as a teacher, school owner, publisher and writer, Jeanne is the author of many acclaimed pre-primary and primary EFL series.

She has trained teachers all over the world and frequently presents at professional conferences. Jeanne is a co-author of the Now I Know! series for Primary and has a passion for making language learning fun.
