Pearson awards celebrate the world’s best English language teachers
London, 15 August 2024 – A global search is underway to find the world’s best English Language teachers. Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L), the world’s lifelong learning company, today announces the Pearson English Language Teacher Awards 2024, celebrating English Language Teachers who inspire learners around the world to be themselves in English.
“These awards honor the dedication and impact of English teachers worldwide,” explains Pearson ELL President, Giovanni Giovannelli. “They recognize the crucial role teachers play in shaping students' language learning journeys and their futures. Many of us can tell stories of that one teacher who helped shaped who we are today. At Pearson, we want to celebrate all the incredible teachers around the world.”
The awards are open to all types of English teachers, from teaching assistants to lecturers. A panel of expert judges will independently review the shortlisted nominees and select gold, silver and bronze winners in each of the five categories. The categories cover different age groups and include special recognition for innovation and newly qualified teachers.
“We’re focusing on how nominees build learners’ confidence, as this is what truly makes the difference between just getting by in a language and really being able to express yourself. When you have the confidence to be yourself, it opens so many doors”, adds Giovannelli.
The five gold winners will each receive a flight, hotel and ticket to a regional professional conference, as well as £500 in credit towards their professional development.
It’s not just the teachers who win: their schools will be awarded an annual subscription to the top language learning app Mondly by Pearson, along with a course, assessment and certification bundle valued at £1,000.
Silver and bronze winners will each receive £250 in credit towards their professional development, as well as Mondly by Pearson annual licenses for their school.
All shortlisted winners will be invited to the online awards ceremony on 21 November 2024, where the final results will be announced.
