Nominate a teacher
When it comes to feeling confident in English, a great teacher can make all the difference, which is worth celebrating. We need your help to recognize and reward those English language teachers who inspire confidence and excellence in their learners. Whether you’re an educator yourself or you're a parent or learner who has experienced the transformative impact of a great teacher, we want to hear your story.
How to nominate
- Anyone can nominate. Teachers can nominate themselves or can be put forward by colleagues, parents or learners.
- Nominations can be submitted at the bottom of this page – simply choose whether you are an educator or a parent/learner to get started.
- Select the appropriate award category for your nomination.
- Write your reasons for nominating them (600-1000 words), answering the nomination question: "How do you/your teacher/your colleague build learners’ confidence to be themselves in English?" and explaining their exceptional work.

Judging criteria
To guide your nomination, our expert judges focus on the following criteria.
- Category fit: How well does the submission meet the criteria outlined in the award category description?
- Confidence building: Does the submission demonstrate an understanding of the unique needs and challenges in building learners’ confidence in English?
- Outcomes: What results and outcomes have been achieved as a result of the nominee’s dedication?
Award decisions
Each award category is evaluated by a panel of two or three expert judges who independently review and shortlist finalists. The final winners are collectively decided by an experienced panel of global judges, which includes current ELT writers, teachers, teacher trainers, educational specialists, authors and industry leaders.
The top three finalists in each category will be invited to the Digital Pearson Teacher Awards Ceremony on 21 November 2024, where the gold, silver and bronze winners will be announced. This recognition celebrates educators who have made a significant impact on English language learning and highlights their exemplary contributions to the field.
